The shipping boxes came in near perfect condition for their sizes. As I started to open the boxes to install the cabinets, I started to notice some unsightly finish issues. The finish issue was with most of my upper cabinets and panels which are poorly sprayed. The sides of the cabinets at the frame where the doors attach to that is exposed and highly visible have barely any paint on them. They are stand alone cabinets and not connected to another so it matters.

When possible, all construction specifics were double checked on the web sites for each cabinet line. I have literally decorated my entire home using home decorator and have never purchased a rug from anywhere else. Thousands of dollars on rugs, bath vanities, home decor and now it's impossible to find anything. I will NOT try to navigate Home Depot where you cannot see full room photos, filter by size or color, find anything you are looking for. Say goodbye to a very valuable customer because this was the worst business decision Home Depot could have ever made. My many friends and family are as disappointed as I and all those who gave posted.
Home Depot Kitchen Cabinet FAQs
The price point for fully custom American made cabinets was comparable or better than most bids. Schuler is the same brand as Medallion and Yorktowne are in private showrooms. So, if you wanted to switch to a private dealer where the experience might be better and you could get the same cabinetry, door styles and colors you could.

Carrying both these type lines along with Fabuwood gives you everything in framed and frameless at very competitive pricing except for full custom cabinetry. Which is why we carry both brands and two custom brands. Mantra is an inexpensive pretty well-made cabinet brand from Masterbrands. We give it a B+ for construction and a Solid B for value.

I am a detailed person but I am only pointing out the obvious items. I never thought I would have to inspect the cabinet construction before installation. I will never buy a MasterBrand cabinet again as evidenced by terrible construction and quality control. I completely agree that these cabinets are awful. I did a complete kitchen remodel and had all sorts of problems with all of the cabinets.

The cabinets arrived via LTL simply shrink wrapped to a shipping pallet w/o a stitch of packing materials to protect them. The tops were crushed and the cabinets themselves gored through by a forklift, or something. Is this how most custom cabinets are shipped w/o packing materials, exposed to all the dangers of long distance shipping by truck? Do some cabinet companies properly package their cabinets for shipping?

The dealer convinced me they were well made - showed me how well the box was constructed. Maybe they're well made boxes but the appearance is what people see... Most manufactures try to make cheap stuff look expensive. Decora makes expensive stuff look cheap.

Much as environmental boasts would have in San Francisco. When cabinet companies boast about things other than their cabinets I tread carefully. I’m not sure on the distinction you’re making. The designer I’m working with is at a cabinet dealer. Often when we get questions like this, and then see the design being considered, the design would be vastly improved by spending a little more money on construction. Moving a doorway, widening an window, removing a wall, all cost peanuts compared to the added costs of these brands for white shaker.

Called and customer service was atrocious as expected. She could care less about the customer or making things right. Claims she is the manager but will do nothing but give you attitude and call you a liar. Over 3 months of waiting and all I have is thousands of dollars worth of garbage. I ordered a rich, dark, chocolate cherry. In fact the Decora sample was nearly visible against my parent's old formal cherry dining room set.
She went around putting a Post It note on all the 33 in fridges then left again. He let her know I had questions & I know I heard her say something derogatory & then came over. They didn't tell me or let me know anything. I will not be doing business with them ever again. They are horrible for not telling me anything and not far for me.
Certainly, I would have us look at the design before you buy cabinets on our free Friday Podcast and helpline. There will be mistakes that we find when have a kitchen designed this way. Do you have any knowledge of either Sylvan Cabinetry or Aiwood Cabinetry? These are the two brands being offered by my designer. If your goal is to have the least # of reps I would choose to carry Masterbrand Lines.

Both these brands make pretty inferior frameless cabinetry, and they aren’t even particularly inexpensive. There are other better made AND less expensive even in frameless lines. CNC and US Cabinet Depot both make well made inexpensive frameless cabinetry, however both are having supply chain issues. If you are getting frameless cabinetry I would get nothing less than 3/4″ plywood sides. When the cabinets finally arrived there were several pieces damaged.
They said that the part should arrive by the end of the week. Friday rolls around, and no part arrives, but we get a phone call saying that it is actually 4-6 weeks for the part to arrive, and asking if we still wanted the part. Julia Hazeltine Home Decorator - STAY AWAY, asked Julia to design a small mother in law kitchen, 10 ft by 14 ft. She had a couple ideas but way out of our budget. After paying her, she would not respond to email, text, phone call. Yes, the item can be returned for a refund, but the real issue is why does Home Depot, carry such low quality products?

You will get several brands that cover several price points from the one company and Rep. I would recommend HomeCrest, Schrock and Decora. Or Wellborne has several lines in their one brand that cover several price points. I am aware that Home Dec was a subsidiary of Home Depot, but now they have merged Home Dec into Home Depot and it is a disaster.
I advanced my complaint to Customer Care only to be given excuse after excuse and to have representatives continue to cover and make excuses for the salesman. This is how important customer service is to Home Depot! I was never advised of ANY cancellation fee, nor was I ever given any paperwork for the order. Shortly after planning the order and paying, I began worrying that I had made a mistake. I decided to make an appointment with another home store to get more information. After doing a computer design of my kitchen, I was quoted just over 8k for replacing with NEW cabinets.
Looks like they we're packaged that way. It's been four months since my kitchen was started and still the damaged pieces have not been shipped. The installer Chris was great and he was very thorough in his install and inspection. He works for Home Depot not the cabinet company. Hoping to have these items by early a July according to Home Decorators. In speaking to them several times they were not helpful nor accommodating.
